1. Overview

This policy outlines the payment terms, cancellations, credits, and refund conditions for services provided by James Driving School.

2. Pricing

  • Current lesson prices, packages, and services are available on our website or provided at the time of booking
  • All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST (where applicable)
  • Prices may be updated from time to time without prior notice
  • Confirmed bookings and purchased packages will honour the price at the time of purchase

3. Payment Terms

  • Lessons must be paid in advance or at the time of booking
  • Packages must be paid in full before the first lesson
  • Accepted payment methods include:
    • Cash
    • Bank transfer
    • Card payment (where available)

Bookings are only confirmed once payment or deposit is received.

4. Cancellation & Rescheduling

4.1 Cancellation by Student
  • More than 48 hours’ notice: Full refund or credit
  • 24–48 hours’ notice: Credit only (valid for 3 months)
  • Less than 24 hours’ notice: Lesson forfeited (no refund or credit)
  • No-show (more than 10 minutes late): Lesson forfeited

Cancellation requests must be made via phone, WhatsApp, or email and must be acknowledged by us to be valid.

4.2 Cancellation by James Driving School

If we cancel due to instructor illness, vehicle issues, or unforeseen circumstances:

You will receive:

  • A full refund, or
  • A credit for future use
  • We will offer priority rescheduling

We are not liable for indirect costs resulting from cancellations.

5. Refund Policy

Refunds May Be Provided For:
  • Overpayments
  • Services we are unable to deliver
  • Unused lessons within a package (requested before expiry)
Package Refunds
  • Calculated on a pro-rata basis
  • Lessons already used will be charged at the standard single-lesson rate
  • An administrative fee may apply
Refunds Will Not Be Provided For:
  • Late cancellations (less than 24 hours)
  • Missed lessons (no-shows)
  • Completed lessons
  • Change of mind after a package has commenced

6. Package Validity & Expiry

  • Packages must be used within the specified validity period (e.g., up to 12 months from purchase)
  • Unused lessons after expiry may be forfeited
  • Extension requests may be considered at our discretion

7. Driving Test Package – No Refund Policy

All driving test package fees are non-refundable.

No refunds will be issued in the following cases:

  • If the driving test is not conducted due to missing documents or failure to meet test requirements
  • If the learner fails the driving test
  • If the learner does not attend the scheduled test (no-show)

Learners are advised to ensure all requirements are met before the scheduled test date.

8. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

You may be entitled to a refund or remedy if services are not provided:

  • With due care and skill
  • Within a reasonable time
  • As agreed

9. Disputes

If you have a concern regarding fees or refunds:

  • Contact us in writing
  • We aim to respond within 5 business days
  • We will work to resolve all issues fairly and promptly
